About the museum >
Jönköping county museum
is a meeting place for people interested in the county’s art and cultural history.
Our exhibitions interpret and reflect art and cultural heritage during different times – past, present and future – in the county and around the world. But our activities extend much further. Some 90 employees work with everything from conservation of cultural objects to exhibitions, archaeology, art conservation, picture archiving, school pedagogy, building conservation, ethnological documentation ...
The museum is located in central Jönköping and comprises of two buildings. The oldest building is from 1956 and was designed by Gustaf Letterström. The new building, designed by Carl Nyrén, was completed in 1994. |
